Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings!
My name is Habibullah-Ruslan Nafisullin. I am an interdisciplinary researcher in the field of artificial intelligence in the Islamic context, and the author and coordinator of the “Islamic Code for the Application of AI.” I am pleased to welcome you to a website dedicated to integrating Islamic values and the norms of the Sharīʿah in an era of rapid development of artificial intelligence.
The purpose of the project is to create an open, reliable, and up-to-date platform where Muslims can find vetted materials on the principles, norms, and practice of applying AI within the framework of Islam. We seek to show that technological progress must not contradict the Sharīʿah (الشَّرِيعَةُ) and morality; rather, it can and must serve the public good, strengthen faith, and promote justice.
The starting point is my experience preparing and defending an academic work on “Developing an Islamic Code of Ethics for the Application of Artificial Intelligence” at Kazan Islamic University, as well as the practical piloting of these principles in real-world examples—from educational projects to the implementation of Islamic chatbots.
The mission of the website is not only to disseminate ready-made solutions, but also to stimulate joint scholarly research. The following will be published here:
- sections of the Code and their explanations;
- news in the field of AI with Islamic commentary;
- case studies of implementing AI in ḥalāl projects;
- invitations to discuss new questions arising at the intersection of religion and technology.
Invitation to Cooperation
I call upon all those who care—scholars, religious leaders, developers, students, and representatives of public organizations—to unite efforts for the responsible and beneficial implementation of AI in our society. Your ideas, questions, and remarks will not only be welcomed, but will also contribute to the development of our common endeavor.
Let us shape together a future in which artificial intelligence serves humankind without violating the bounds of the Sharīʿah and ethical values!
And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions.
